Aphra de Nucingen

Polymorphous artist

Amplification, 2024

Aphra de Nucingen is a queer artist with disabilities based in Marseille, France.

Her multidisciplinary practice is anchored in contemporary photography and the exploration of images and representations. She investigates the concept of identity, weaving analog and digital processes into work that navigates the spaces between intimacy and distance, presence and absence, softness and violence.

Trained in art and Gestalt therapy, Aphra brings a reflective and critical perspective to her practice. Her work has been exhibited in France and internationally, including her first solo exhibition at the 2024 Stockholm Fringe Festival. Through her projects, she creates spaces where personal and collective narratives intersect, inviting viewers to reconsider the boundaries of visibility, perception, and identity.
